Hello, My Name is Ly May Chan…
My family and I invite you to experience the life of the Red Dao and the many minorities including the Black Hmong in the beautiful village of Ta Phin, Sa Pa, Vietnam. At present, there are 6 people in my family: my husband, son named Ly Lao U, daughter-in-law named Chao May Thim and my two sweet grandchildren.
My home is open to all travelers and tourists who come to relax and learn about our culture. We offer traditional ancient foot soaks, herbal baths, delicious home cooked meals, and trekking and city tours of Sa Pa.
My Involvement in the Red Dao Community..
From 1980 to 1994, I was the president of women’s union in the commune. After that, I became a member of People’s Committee of Ta Phin Commune till 2000 when I became vice chairman of the People’s Councils of Ta Phin commune until 2008. In 2005, my village partnered with the PATA Foundation and Capilano University to help guide our community for sustainable tourism.
